Course Description: The perfect course for new handgun owners, those just learning to shoot, and responsible handgun owners that want to refresh their basic skills. Students will leave the course with improved speed, accuracy, and confidence after having demonstrated their ability to effectively and accurately use defensive shooting fundamentals on a live-fire range.
Curriculum: Defensive Handgun Shooting Fundamentals is a comprehensive course for anyone considering owning or carrying a handgun (pistol or revolver) for self-defense. The course is a complete guide to understanding Defensive shooting vs. marksmanship; Proper Grip; Shooting Stance; Aligning the Muzzle to the target; Unsighted fire; Target focus; Front-sight focus; Trigger Control
Prerequisites: Completion of the Self-Defense Handgun Basics Course, or a demonstrated proficiency in the associated course material. Students must be able to demonstrate an understanding of how their handgun and ammunition works, how to handle them, and how to clear the most common handgun malfunctions.
Successful Completion: Students completing the course will receive a Certificate of Training Completion and will be much better prepared to use defensive handgun shooting fundamentals in defense of themselves and/or others.

$150.00 (paid at the time of class registration) Note: Cost will not be reimbursed for cancellations within 48 hours of the class start time. For exigent circumstances student may be rescheduled within a six-month period at the sole discretion of GSTS.

Student Provides:
Handgun: pistol or revolver
50 rounds of correct caliber ammo
New manufacturer ammo, no reloads
Magazine/Speed Loader (Min 3 each for specific handgun)
Magazine Pouch (must accommodate 2 magazines or speed loaders)
Holster (NO Blackhawk Serpa model holsters, and/or similar type)
Functional ear and eye protection for live-fire range
Brimmed hat
Long pants
Closed-toe shoes
Thick belt that will support holster and magazine pouches
Lunch, snacks, water, beverage (working lunch)
Optional: Appropriate weather gear (rain, cold, etc)
Optional: Bug spray
Optional: Sunscreen
